PROVIDING YOU WITH AN INSIGHT INTO THE SIGMA PROGRAMME
The purpose of the following questionnaire is to provide you with an insight into the challenges and realities you can expect from SIGMA. The questions encourage you to think seriously about the work of a SIGMA member and how it matches your interests, skills and expectations. We hope that it will give you some idea of the demands of the SIGMA programme.
As you're completing the questionnaire, remember:
The questionnaire is not assessed and is only to help you decide whether SIGMA
is for you. You do not have to show your results to anybody else and we will
not have access to them.
It is important you are honest in your answers. Do not give an answer because you think it's the one we're looking for, or because that's the way you would like to be. If you are not honest with yourself at this stage, you might find yourself applying for a role you won't enjoy.
Some of the questions may not appear relevant to you and answering might be difficult, but do the best you can. Where you do not have the relevant experience, either think about events in your life similar to those in the questions or choose how you think you are most likely to behave.
Please note that although the questionnaire asks you to think about your preferences and interests, we will be looking for evidence from you against the competencies in all other stages of the assessment process.
How does this questionnaire work?
You will see a series of statements regarding the role and tasks of a SIGMA
member. You should rate the statements according to how you would behave using
a 5-point scale:
1 = strongly agree
2 = agree
3 = neither agree nor disagree
4 = disagree
5 = strongly disagree
At the end of the process you will see how you fared against the 'expected SIGMA rating' which is how we expect a strong SIGMA candidate to rate the statement. The questionnaire should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete. Please consider the outcome of this questionnaire carefully before applying to SIGMA.
